Ms. Perper has also lectured at the National Naval Medical Center Department of Audiology on how hypnosis can
help patients with ringing in the ears or tinnitus. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, the D.C.
Dental Hygiene Association, the Maryland Dental Hygiene Association,
the Maryland Dental Hygiene Association,
and the
National Guild of Hypnotists - National Capital area chapter.
Ms. Perper is certified as a hypnotherapy trainer for Emergency First Responders (Police, EMT, and Fire)
as well as in chronic pain management. She has been using hypnosis as a treatment for her patients in the
dental practices of Neil Cohen, DDS and Stanley Mayer, DDS. In addition to using hypnotherapy herself,
she has trained other hygienists to use visualizations and guided imagery with their patients to eliminate the
factors that keep patients bound up in a state of constant fear. Her father was Dr. Harry Aks, a professor
at the University of Maryland Dental school.
